Cellist Liina Leijala was born in 1984 in Keuruu, Finland. Study in the Sibelius-Akatemia with Heikki Rautasalo and Marko Ylönen, as well as in the

Reina Sofía Higher School of Music in Madrid, with Ralf Gothoni.

In spring 2012 he finished his Master's studies at the Academy Sibelius with the highest ratings. Furthermore, he has completed his postgraduate studies at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Vienna.

Leijala is currently director of the Barenboim-Said Foundation Center cello teacher at the Wiener Musikakademie and at the Barenboim Said Foundation Center. He is a cellist in Trio Global.

Liina Leijala has been a finalist in the EBU Young Soloist Competition and winner of numerous international competitions, such as International Gaetano Zinetti Competition and Majano Chamber Music Competition. He Gironcoli Cuarteto de Leijala wins the International Chamber Music Competition in Bled, in 2013. In addition, he has worked with Barbirolli Quartet in London.

She is nominated for the JóvenesTalentos concert series in theVienna Musikverein, where he made his debut at the opening concert of the

2013 season. He has performed as a soloist throughout Europe, Asia and the United States Joined.

 

He has performed as solo cellist at the Orchestra Academy ofVienna Philharmonic, 2009-2011. He has also collaborated with Mahler

Chamber Orchestra and often performs with the Chamber Orchestra Salzburg Chamber Soloists. He is a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra.

Spring 2013 is chosen by the European El Systema, a project of the Konzerthaus in Vienna. Outstanding references for her have been the pianist and orchestra director Ralf Gothoni and the pianist Ferenc Rados. Leijala has the support of the Wihuri Foundation, Wegelius Foundation and Pro Musica Foundation.

Liina Leijala's instrument is a Vincenzo Postiglione from 1896, by the Leijala thanks the Finnish Culture Foundation.
